APPOINTMENTS - BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: Appointments are needed for the following boards: First Responders Excellence and Innovation Fund Amarillo Firemen's Relief and Retirement Fund Board of Trustees Amarillo City Hall is accessible to individuals with disabilities through its main entry on the south side (Southeast 7th Avenue) of the building. An access ramp leading to the main entry is located at the southwest corner of the building. Parking spaces for individuals with disabilities are available in the south parking lot. City Hall is equipped with restroom facilities, communications equipment and elevators that are accessible. Individuals with disabilities who require special accommodations or a sign language interpreter must contact the City Secretary's Office 48 hours prior to meeting time by telephoning 378-3013 or the City TDD number at 378-4229. PUBLIC HEARING - ANNEXATION: Overview: (Contact: Cody Balzen, Planner I) This is the second public hearing is to gather comments for and against annexation of a 91.334 acre property situated south of the city limits, and located near the southwest corner of the intersection of South Georgia Street and West Loop 335, and extending west/southwest along West Loop 335.
3. PURCHASE - CONSTRUCTION OF GENE HOWE NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS: Overview: (Contact: Rod Tweet, Parks & Recreation Director) Awarded to Kelly Wood company -- $285,004.00 Additive Alternate #3 -- $10,950.00 Total Bid Awarded -- $291,954.00 This project is the construction of the site grading, surface drainage, and concrete flat work in anticipation of new play equipment, swings, and splash pad. Electrical upgrades are also included to provide additional lighting for the parking lot and for the walking path around the park. A multi-purpose court with fencing, shade structures, picnic tables and benches are part of this bid package.
4. CONSIDER AWARD - CONSTRUCTION OF GENE HOWE NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENTS: Overview: (Contact: Rod Tweet, Parks & Recreation Director) Awarded to Kraftsman Commercial Playground and Water Parks - $362,060.73 This project is the purchase and installation of the play structure, splash pad and adult exercise stations for Gene Howe Neighborhood Park area. The improvements will consist of a drain away splash pad with 10-spray features. The splash pad will be 1,257 square feet circular concrete pad with a color safety surface. Utility hook-ups will be provided as part of the project. The play area equipment will be a newly designed marsh theme with cattails, log steps and frog themed play panels. Both the play area and the splash pad are themed together. The adult fitness equipment will include a 4-person lower body combo and a 4-person pendulum and dip station upper body combo.
