S. Lake Street
Overview: The proposed change is requested by the City Transit system to restore two-way traffic operations on the one block segment of Southeast 14th Avenue from Bolton to Lake Streets that is currently part of the one-way traffic circulation around Benton Park. This change is requested to allow the City Transit SpecTrans system to better access and serve a disabled customer in the area. This segment was originally converted to one-way traffic at the request of the Amarillo Police Department in 1993 and the issues that gave rise to the request have since subsided. This ordinance was reviewed and recommended for approval by a 6:0 vote of the Traffic Advisory Board.

Award to High Plains Contractors -- $113,763.97
Overview: This item awards a contract with High Plains Contractors for the replacement of an 8-inch water main located in the Polk Street/Tyler Street alley between Southeast 3rd Avenue and Southeast 4th Avenue. This water main has a history of failures and its replacement will result in a reduction of future maintenance demands and service outages for customers. Funding for this project is available from the Approved Utilities Division Capital Improvements Program budget.
B. Award - Municipal Garage Floor Drains:
Award to Tri-State General Contracting Group, Inc. -- $119,800.00
Overview: This item awards a contract with Tri-State General Contracting Group, Inc. for the removal of an existing failing drainage system and replacement with a new system in the City's Municipal Garage. Funding for this project is available from the Approved Municipal Garage Capital Improvements Program budget.

Overview: This item approves the annual contract for the purchase of water meters, including radio read and manual meters of various sizes and fire hydrant meters. These are purchased and stocked as-needed in the City's Central Stores. This contract represents a 2.44% increase from the last year's contract prices. Funding for this purchase is in the approved Central Stores inventory budget.

Overview: This item approves change order number two (2) to the contract with Holmes Construction Company on the reconstruction of Southwest 9th Avenue from Coulter Street to Amarillo Boulevard West. The existing water line on 9th Avenue is shallow and was not installed with the typical concrete trench cap. This change order will install approximately 2,010 square yards of protective flow fill concrete end over the line. Funding for this project is in the approved FY 2014/2015 Public Works Capital Improvement Program project.
