A. Purchase - Public Safety Radio Equipment:
Overview: Award to Motorola Solutions c/o WT Services on the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Cooperative Purchasing Contract - $271,125.00
This item approves the purchase of radio equipment for the Amarillo Police and Fire Departments and the Office of Emergency Management. This project includes 57 vehicular radios and 99 multi-key upgrades for existing mobile and handheld units to provide additional capability and interoperability. All equipment is compliant with the FCC mandated narrowband requirements and is capable of accepting firmware upgrades to allow use on a future digital radio network.
Funding for this purchase is from the FY 2013 State Homeland Security Program and the FY 2013 Law Enforcement Prevention of Terrorism Activities Program grants. No City funds are required for this purchase.
B. Award - Water and Wastewater Distribution Improvement Projects:
Overview: Award to low responsive bidder: Perry Williams, Inc. -- $129,493.56
Overview: This item awards a construction contract for the first phase of the relocation of water and sewer mains currently within the TXDOT right of way for the expansion of Loop 335 (Hollywood Road) and Western Street. Funding for this project is available in two approved Water and Wastewater Collection Capital Improvement program budgets.
C. Award - Construction Sidewalks and Ramps:
Overview: Award to low responsive bidder: Tri-State General Contracting Group, Inc. - $63,048.30
Overview: This item awards a contract for the construction of residential sidewalk and curb ramps along the east side of Alabama Street from Southwest 6th Avenue to Southwest 3rd Avenue. This project will improve ADA accessibility. The project was estimated at $75,000. Funding for the project is available from the 2013 approved capital improvement project.
