A. Approval - Civic Center Event and Venue Management Software:
Award to best evaluated proposer: Ungerboeck Software International -- $84,062.00
Overview: This item approves the purchase of a hosted software system to manage event planning, reservations and rentals for the Civic Center and the Globe News Center. The software will replace the current system, which was purchased in 1991. The new system will also track the Civic Center's equipment, inventory, and will produce and track invoices. Funding for the purchase is available from the approved Civic Center Capital Improvement Program budget and the current operational budget.
B. Approval - Amarillo Economic Development Corporation Projects:
Project 10-01-02 - Golden Spread Electric Cooperative (GSEC) Headquarters:
Overview: GSEC received assistance in 2010 to grow its headquarters operation, increase staffing and increase payroll in Amarillo. GSEC has done so and is now looking to further expand its headquarters operations in Amarillo. This item approves an amendment to the existing Location Incentives Agreement (LIA) with Golden Spread Electric Cooperative to provide a job retention/creation grant in an amount not to exceed the company's increase in annual lease payments of $132,932 based on the company's performance in increasing its financial impact on the community. This incentive agreement was considered and approved by the Amarillo EDC Board of Directors.
Project 11-09-02 -- West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) Enterprise Center Expansion:
Overview: This item approves a grant in the amount of $500,000 to the WTAMU Enterprise Center for its proposed $8 million capital expansion of its existing facilities. The Enterprise Center has proposed a three-phase expansion program that will consist of an $8 million expansion, a maintenance endowment of $3 million and an incubation investment fund of $1 million. The grant from the AEDC will be provided to the Enterprise Center when the fund raising for the construction of the facility expansion is complete.
