Award to low responsive bidder: Amarillo Utility Contractors - $557,298.10
Overview: This item awards a contract to install a new 16 inch water main along Amarillo Blvd. from Western Street to Bible Church. The installation of the new main will extend the water distribution system to allow for new growth and will eliminate a line currently crossing private property. Funding for this award is in the approved Utilities Division Capital Improvement Program budget.

Overview: This item accepts the Fiscal Year 2013 Texas Traffic Safety Program Grant. The Texas Department of Transportation provides funding to the Amarillo Police Department to focus additional resources on Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) offenses, Speed Enforcement, and Safety Belt and Child Safety Seat. DWI and Speed Enforcement efforts will be focused on areas where there is an over-representation of accidents or offenses while the Safety Belt enforcement efforts are jurisdiction wide. Funding for this program is level from previous years. The required matching funds are available in the approved Police Department operating budget.
D. Approval - Amarillo Economic Development Corporation Land Sale and Project Development:
Prana Development Group - CenterPort Business Park
Overview: This item approves an Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) project to promote additional growth and development in the CenterPort Business Park. The proposed project includes the sale of ten (10) acres of undeveloped property in the CenterPort Business Park to the Prana Development Group for the development of a multi-tenant industrial building. The property will be sold to the Prana Development Group for $10,000 and the AEDC will provide up to $200,000 in site development costs to support the development of new industrial space for retention and expansion of industrial prospects. The Prana Development Group intends to develop a 50,000 square foot industrial building on the site with expansion capabilities up to 125,000 square feet. This project as proposed will assist in the retention and expansion of a local firm (Lindsay Corporation) that manufactures agricultural irrigation sprinklers.

Overview: This item is the purchase of an approximately 7.15 acre tract in the vicinity of Farmers Avenue for the construction of a large drainage channel. This channel is necessary to accommodate a future drainage project that will accommodate existing storm water flows from the area to the west. This project will reduce flooding potential in the targeted area and will also accommodate future growth in the area. The portion of the property necessary to accommodate future growth is being provided to the City at no cost.
