A. Purchase - Building Door Security System:
Overview: Award to Entech Sales and Service on the Buyboard Contract -- $26,500.00
Overview: This item approves the purchase of a new door security system for the remainder of the Police Department and Municipal Court Building at 200 Southeast 3rd Avenue. The new system will enable all the locks and readers to be compatible with the card system installed on the 3rd and 6th floors of the Amarillo Police Department. The contract includes design, installation and programming. Funding for this award is available in the approved Police Department Capital Improvement Program Budget.
B. Purchase - Water Well Motors, Pumps and Electric Cable Annual Contract:

Gicon Pump and Equipment, Ltd. -- $549,302.00
Overview: This item awards the annual contract for replacement well motors, pumps and electrical cable to ensure that City water wells are available for use throughout the year and that any breakdowns or failures can be repaired with on-hand parts. The proposed award includes eight (8) new pumps and motors and 6,400 feet of submersible electric cable. Funding for this purchase is in the approved FY 2011-12 Water Production Department Operating Budget.
C. Purchase - Police Mobile, Portable and Base Radios:
Overview: Award to Motorola Solutions c/o WT Services on the Houston Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Cooperative Purchasing Contract -- $168,547.45
Overview: This item continues a series of purchases of radio equipment for the Amarillo Police Department, SWAT and Narcotics units. This project includes 34 dual band portable radios, 3 mobile radios and 2 mobile base stations. The radio equipment replaces existing units that are not compliant with the FCC mandated narrowband requirements and also provide enhanced capabilities. Funding for this purchase is available from the FY 2011 State Homeland Security Program Law Enforcement Prevention of Terrorism Activities grant.
D. Award - Colonies Public Improvement District Projects:
Overview: Award to low responsive bidder: Nunn Construction, Inc. -- $969,035.00
Overview: This item awards a contract for the construction of site amenities and landscaping for the Colonies Public Improvement District for Unit 45 and Unit 18. Work will include the Valcour Drive Pocket Park and the medians on New England Parkway. The project consists of a screening wall, entry signage, cast stone planters, and concrete pavers. This project will be funded by the developer, who will be reimbursed by property assessments from Colonies property owners. Since this project will involve the future use of Colonies Public Improvement District funds, the City has overseen the design and bid process of this project. The project is recommended for approval by the Colonies Public Improvement Advisory Board. No City Capital Funds are required for this project.
E. Award - Arden Paradise Roof Repair
Overview: Award to low responsive bidder: Tecta America CS, LLC - $203,500.00
Overview: This item awards a contract for roof repairs to the Arden Paradise Building at the Amarillo International Airport. The repairs will alleviate major leaks from numerous types of roof penetrations. Funding for this purchase is available from the approved FY 2011-12 Airport Capital Improvements Program Budget.
