Award on a Buy Board Cooperative Purchasing Contact: Global Government/Education Solutions Inc - $32,237.50
Overview: This item awards a contract for the purchase of 50 digital cameras and lenses for the Amarillo Police Department for documentation of accidents and crime scenes. Older cameras are replaced and the new academy recruits will be issued cameras. This purchase represents a 16% increase in price since the last purchase in April 2011. Funding is available from the approved FY 2011/12 Police Department current inventory budget.
B. Award - Transit Dispatch Console Equipment:
Award to lowest responsive bidder: Watson Furniture Group, Inc., -- $55,778.70
Overview: This item approves the purchase and installation of dispatch console furniture for the Transit Office at 801 Southeast 23rd Avenue. The recommended bidder complies with the requirements of Buy America per the conditions of the Federal Transportation Administration. The cost of the furniture is 14% less than estimated. Funding for this purchase is available from the Transit Department's Building Upgrade Capital Improvements Project and 80% of the funding is provided from the Federal Transportation Administration.
C. Award - HVAC System for Hollywood Road Treatment Plant Administration Building:
Award to lowest responsive bidder: Howard's Mechanical, Inc. -- $58,968.01
Overview: This item awards a contract for the replacement of the HVAC System for the Administration Building at the Hollywood Road Treatment Plant. The existing system was installed in 1992 and is past its usable lifespan. Funding is available from the approved FY 2011-12 Utilities Division Capital Improvement Program.
D. Award - Floor Pan Replacement for Caterpillar Scraper:
Award to Proprietary Manufacturer: Warren Cat -- $28,384.66
Overview: This item approves the unscheduled replacement of a floor pan for a Caterpillar Scraper at the Landfill. Damage to the Scraper is unrepairable and is attributed to the condition of the soil and rock at the landfill. The equipment will be repaired onsite by the manufacturer. The cost of this replacement is 11% more than the last repair in November 2010. Funding for the replacement is available from the approved FY 2011-12 Municipal Garage parts and labor budget.
E. Approval -- Application - 2012 Summer Food Service Program Grant:
Overview: This item authorizes the electronic submission of a grant to the Texas Department of Agriculture for the 2012 Summer Food Service Program. The grant will allow the City to serve free snacks and lunches to an estimated 6,800 children per day at 17 park sites, 21 schools, the Wesley Community Center, and the Martial Arts and Athletic Center. The program will begin on June 7th and end on August 7th. The state will reimburse a total of $4.105 per meal for food costs and administrative costs. This in an increase of 2.7% from last year's program.
F. Approval - 2012 City of Amarillo Group Health Plan:
Overview: This item approves the 2012 City of Amarillo Group Health Plan and the associated changes necessary to update the Plan. Changes include those necessary to accommodate the new hospital provider, grammatical and numbering changes and those required by Federal Law.
