A. Purchase - Utility Vehicles and Tractors:
Award on a TXMASS contract: Western Equipment, LLC -- $38,716.93
Overview: This item approves the purchase of one 4-wheel drive utility tractor and one 4-wheel drive utility vehicle for the Osage Treatment Plan, and one utility vehicle for use at the Amarillo Shooting Complex. Funding for the purchase is available from two sources: the approved 2011-12 operating budget for Surface Water Treatment and from the Amarillo Police Department Seized Funds account.
B. Purchase - LED Traffic Lights:
Award to low responsive bidder: Leotek Electronics USA -- $25,852.80
Overview: This item approves the purchase of LED signal faces for traffic signals on four downtown dispersal streets. This equipment is being purchased under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This purchase represents a reduction of 23% from the last purchase of LED signal faces. Funding for the purchase is available from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant awarded to the City by the U.S. Department of Energy.
C. Application - Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator:
Department of Housing and Urban Development -- $36,009.00
Overview: This item authorizes the submission of the FY 2012-13 grant request to fund a portion of the salary and fringe benefits of the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator in the amount of $36,009.00 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The balance of the funds needed for the position will be provided from the Section 8 Voucher administrative fees. The FSS Coordinator assists Section 8 participants to develop a five-year plan to achieve self-sufficiency. Currently, 75 households are in the FFS program. The anticipated allocation for FY 2012-13 represents level funding.
