Overview: This item awards a contract to remove asbestos containing material from the existing dressing rooms, two restrooms, a laundry room, certain hallways, the Headliner Room and three air handling units at the Amarillo Civic Center. Removal of this material is necessary to ensure safety and to allow for future renovation projects. Funding for this award is in the approved Civic Center Capital Improvement Program budget.
B. Award - Airport Leased Hangar Skylight Replacement:
Overview: Award to low responsive bidder Parsleys Sheet Metal & Roofing, Inc. -- $97,000.00
Overview: This item awards a contract to replace 46 skylights on Hangar 605 at the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport. Hangar 605 is owned by the Airport and is currently leased to Leading Edge Aviation Services. These skylights were last repaired in 1996 and are now in need of replacement. The bid for this project is 22% less than the original estimate. Funding for this project is in the approved Airport capital Improvement Program budget.
C. Approval - Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1 Incentive Project:
Overview: Vineyard Manor Apartments - 1201 South Polk Street
Developer Agreement for Streetscape Improvements -- $48,425.00
Overview: This item is the approval of a project to fund streetscape improvements in the public right-of-way at the Vineyard Manor Apartments, 1201 South Polk Street. The streetscape improvements will include nine (9) trees, seven (7) pedestrian lights, associated planters and new sidewalks adjacent to the property along Polk Street and 12th Avenue. The estimated cost of the improvements is approximately $97,000, and the amount requested from the TIRZ is $48,425.00, or 50%.
Overview: This project is consistent with the goals of the TIRZ and all activities funded through this project will be performed on the public right-of-way. Both the TIRZ #1 Board of Directors and the Potter County Commissioners Court has approved this project and it is now recommended to the Amarillo City Commission for final approval.
D. Award - WIC Building Storage Improvements:
Overview: Award to Talon LPE on Texas BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Contract through the Job Order Contract (JOC) system -- $296,921.51
Overview: This item awards a contract to construct a 4,400 square foot storage facility and related items at the City of Amarillo Women, Infants and Children's (WIC) Center at 411 South Austin. Construction of this facility will allow the WIC program to consolidate its warehouse and storage items into a single facility and will further allow re-development of the facility basement at a later time. This project is made possible by an additional grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture, which will fully fund the contract.
E. Acceptance - Aviation Clear Zone Easement:
Overview: An Aviation Clear Zone Easement being 4750 feet MSL above the plat of City View Estates Unit No. 9, in Section 231, Block 2, AB&M Survey, Randall County, from Rockrose Development LLC.
