Overview: Award to low responsive bidder: MH Civil Constructors, Inc. -- $208,000.00
Overview: This item awards a contract to perform the third phase of the bus stop improvements project. Phase III of this effort will install new bus stops and bus benches at various stops on Routes 2, 6, 7, and 8. These installations are governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) requirements and must be performed in accordance with all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines and mandates. Overview: This item awards a contract to upgrade the electrical system in the Civic Center Auditorium to support the previously approved sound system upgrade. These upgrades are additions to the existing electrical system and are necessary for the new sound system. Funding for this award is in the approved Civic Center Capital Improvement Program budget.
C. Award - Civic Center Auditorium/Lobby Carpet Replacement:

Overview: This item awards a contract to replace the existing carpet in the Civic Center Auditorium and associated lobby. Included in this project is the replacement of all step treads and aisle edging in the Auditorium. Funding for this award is in the approved Civic Center Capital Improvement Program budget.

Overview: This item accepts the fiscal year 2011/2012 grant funding from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) for the Amarillo Department of Public Health Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Program. These funds will support the Public Health Department's ongoing efforts regarding Tuberculosis prevention and control in the City and Potter and Randall Counties. The funding is a reduction of $17,145 from the current grant amount. It is expected that DSHS will restore full funding to the contract by amendment during the 2011/2012 fiscal year.

This grant is offered through the Texas Department of Transportation and is provided to the Amarillo Police Department to focus additional resources on Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) offenses, Speed Enforcement, and Safety Belt and Child Safety Seat. DWI and Speed Enforcement efforts will be focused on areas where there is an over-representation of accidents or offenses while the Safety Belt enforcement efforts are jurisdiction wide. The required matching funds are on-hand and available in the approved FY 2011/2012 Police Department operating budget.

Overview: This item approves the annual contract to supply fatigue (duty) uniforms for the Amarillo Fire Department. Funding for this purchase is in the approved Amarillo Fire Department operating budget.
