AND WE'LL START WITH AN INVOCATION.

WOULD YOU JOIN ME PLEASE.

LORD, WE'RE SO HUMBLED TO BE DOING THE WORK THAT YOU'VE GIVEN US TO DO AND TO DO IT IN A WONDERFUL PLACE LIKE THE CITY OF AMARILLO, WE ASK FOR YOUR WISDOM THAT IT WOULD GUIDE OUR THOUGHTS. WE ASK FOR YOUR HEALING HAND, THAT IT WOULD TOUCH THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING OR SICK IN OUR CITY.

WE PRAY FOR STRENGTH AND STAMINA.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN ON A LONG JOURNEY AND DOING HARD THINGS TO MAKE OUR CITY A BETTER PLACE, I PRAY A BLESSING OVER THE CITY COUNCIL AND OVER THESE FOUR PEOPLE AND THE FAMILIES THAT THEY REPRESENT.

THANK YOU. BLESS THEM.

BLESS THE CITY STAFF LORD.

THEY WORK SO HARD.

BLESS EACH ONE OF THEIR FAMILIES AS THEY HAVE CHRISTMAS TIME TOGETHER, THEY START A NEW YEAR. AND LORD, AS OUR NEW YEAR STARTS, WE JUST ASK THAT YOU WOULD BLESS THE BUSINESSES, BLESS THE FAMILIES, BLESS THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF AMARILLO.

WE'RE IN YOUR HANDS.

YOU CREATED US AND YOU SUSTAIN US.

THANK YOU FOR THE MANY BLESSINGS THAT YOU'VE GIVEN US.

WE WANT TO HONOR YOU AND GIVE YOU GLORY FOR THEM.

AND WE ASK ALL OF THIS IN JESUS NAME.

AMEN. AMEN.

WE DON'T HAVE ANY ONE SIGNED UP FOR PUBLIC ADDRESS TODAY, SO WE'LL MOVE RIGHT INTO THE

[1.A. Review agenda items for regular meeting and attachments ]

AGENDA AT ITEM 1A.

MR. CITY MANAGER, DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING REGARDING THE CONSENT AGENDA? YES, MA'AM, ITEM 2F IS CONSIDERING THE AWARD AND PURCHASE OF A CHEVY TAHOE POLICE VERSION AND AN F150 FORD F 150, WE THE CAPTION DOESN'T HAVE IT EXACTLY CORRECT, BUT THE SUPPORTING INFORMATION DOES.

WE'RE BUYING A CHEVY TAHOE POLICE VERSION FROM HOLIDAY CHEVROLET, AND THAT'S FOR SIXTY ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY SIX DOLLARS.

WE'RE ALSO BUYING A F 150 FROM SAM PACK'S FIVE STAR FORD FOR FORTY ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINE DOLLARS FOR TOTAL PURCHASE OF ONE HUNDRED SIX HUNDRED EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS FOR THE TWO VEHICLES BOTH UPFITTED.

SO THIS IS WITH EVERYTHING TO MAKE THEM FULLY OPERATIONAL.

IN THE CASE OF THE TAHOE, IT'S THE CAGE AND THE COMPUTERS AND THE LIGHTS AND ALL THAT STUFF. SO WHILE THE CAPTION JUST SAYS, CONSIDER [INAUDIBLE] OF THE 2021 CHEVY TAHOE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, IT'S THE SUPPORTING INFORMATION IS FOR THE TAHOE AND THE F 150.

SO YOU CAN MAKE THE MOTION TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL IN THE CONSENT AGENDA ITEM WITHOUT ANY ISSUES. IT IS LEGAL.

WE JUST DIDN'T GET THE NAME THE TITLE CORRECT ON THAT ITEM.

SO IF ANYBODY HAS ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT, LOVE TO ANSWER THAT.

IT'S PRETTY STRAIGHTFORWARD. WE JUST MADE A MISTAKE AND I'LL MAKE SURE THAT AS WE GO FORWARD THAT WE TAKE STEPS TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN GOING FORWARD.

BUT IT IS LEGAL. IT IS APPROPRIATE GOING FORWARD.

WE DO HAVE THE CORRECT SUPPORTING INFORMATION IN THERE AND ALL THE BID TABS TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION.

BUT WE DIDN'T GET THE RIGHT TITLE ON THE ITEM.

THERE'S NO OTHER THERE'S NO QUESTIONS ON IT, I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE UNDERSTOOD IT WAS A TAHOE AND AN F 150 THAT'S BEING PURCHASED IN THIS ITEM FOR ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS.

OK, THANK YOU.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR FURTHER INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT THE AGENDA ITEMS, COUNCIL? OK, LET'S MOVE ON TO ITEM 1B A CORONAVIRUS UPDATE, MR.

[1.B. Coronavirus Update]

CITY MANAGER, RIGHT TO START THE ITEM OFF, WE'VE GOT CASIE STOUGHTON, OUR DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC HEALTH. A LOT OF THINGS MOVING RIGHT NOW.

A LITTLE BIT TO REPORT CASIE.

TAKE IT AWAY. THANK YOU.

SO WE'LL TALK ABOUT OUR NUMBERS FIRST AND THEN WE HAVE SOME GREAT NEWS HERE IN OUR COMMUNITY. SO AS OF TODAY, THERE ARE A TOTAL OF TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE TOTAL COVID-19 CASES IN POTTER AND RANDALL COUNTY, FOURTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN CASES IN POTTER COUNTY AND TWELVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR CASES IN RANDALL COUNTY.

WE HAVE A TOTAL OF TWENTY THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY SIX RECOVERIES AND WE ARE UP TO FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY ONE DEATHS HERE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

THAT LEAVES US WITH SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO ACTIVE CASES.

EACH OF THE CASES, AGAIN, DO REPRESENT A UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL.

THE TOTAL ROLLING SEVEN DAY POSITIVITY RATE FOR THE POTTER AND RANDALL COUNTIES IS DOWN TO 12 PERCENT.

AND SO THAT'S GOOD NEWS.

THE DRIVE, THE POSITIVITY RATE AT THE DRIVE THRU TESTING SITE, WHICH IS A SUBSET OF THE TOTAL, IS DOWN TO THIRTY TWO PERCENT.

[00:05:01]

AND THE FIVE DAY POSITIVE CASE AVERAGE WITH POSITIVE NEW CASE AVERAGE IS AT TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX NEW CASES PER DAY.

THE PUBLIC HEALTH DRIVE THROUGH TESTING SITE DOES REMAIN OPERATIONAL AND INDIVIDUALS CAN CALL 378-6300 TO BE SCREENED AND DIRECTED TO THE TEST SITE.

OUR COMMUNITY DOES REMAIN AT STATUS LEVEL RED, AS ALL OF THE INDICATORS DO REMAIN CONSISTENT WITH THE THRESHOLD FOR BEING AT STATUS LEVEL RED.

GA 32S HOSPITALIZATION RATE FOR THE TWENTY FIVE COUNTY PANHANDLE [INAUDIBLE] REGION HAS BEEN OVER 15 PERCENT FOR OVER A MONTH NOW.

YESTERDAY, THAT [INAUDIBLE] HOSPITALIZATION PERCENTAGE WAS A THIRTY POINT SIX FIVE PERCENT, MEANING THAT JUST OVER 30 PERCENT OF ALL HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS HAVE COVID-19.

WE'RE CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC REGARDING LOCAL HOSPITALIZATION CAPACITY.

WITH TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO PATIENTS HOSPITALIZED WITH COVID-19, TOTAL ADULT BED UTILIZATION IS STILL AT NINETY ONE POINT FIVE PERCENT, ICU CAPACITY IS AT NINETY ONE PERCENT AND VENTILATOR CAPACITY IS AT SIXTY POINT FIVE PERCENT.

THE LOCAL HOSPITALIZATION RATE IS AT THREE POINT SEVEN SEVEN PERCENT, MEANING THAT THREE POINT SEVEN SEVEN PERCENT OF ALL OF THE PEOPLE WITH ACTIVE COVID-19 ARE REQUIRING HOSPITALIZATION. ABOUT A MONTH AGO WE HAD THREE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN PATIENTS HOSPITALIZED. OUR ENTIRE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING THOSE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE WORKING AT THE HOSPITAL, AGAIN, ARE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE OF THE DECLINE IN HOSPITALIZED PATIENTS.

EVEN WITH THIS DECREASE, THOUGH TO TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO PATIENTS THAT STILL WAY TOO MANY PATIENTS HOSPITALIZED WITH COVID-19.

AND SO NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO LET UP ON THIS PUBLIC HEALTH PREVENTION EFFORTS LIKE MASKING SOCIAL DISTANCING, STAYING HOME IF YOU'RE SICK OR HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19.

BUT AGAIN, WE'RE CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC AT THOSE NUMBERS.

SOME GREAT NEWS ON THE VACCINE FRONT, THE PFIZER VACCINE BEYOND TECH COVID-19 VACCINE HAS BEEN GRANTED AN EMERGENCY USE AUTHORIZATION BY THE FDA AND IT HAS RECEIVED AN ACIP RECOMMENDATION TO BE USED IN PEOPLE 16 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER.

THIS IS SPECIFIC TO THE PFIZER VACCINE.

THE VACCINE REQUIRES TWO DOSES ADMINISTERED 21 DAYS APART.

IF IT'S ADMINISTERED MORE THAN TWENTY ONE DAYS APART, THEN YOU WANT TO GET THAT SECOND DOSE JUST AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN, BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO START THE SERIES OVER.

I THINK THAT'S IMPORTANT WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT VACCINATION.

YOU CAN'T ADMINISTER IT LESS THAN 21 DAYS.

HOWEVER, THERE IS A FOUR DAY GRACE PERIOD THAT'S CONSISTENT WITH OTHER VACCINES THAT REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE DOSE.

THE VACCINES ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE, MEANING IF YOU START WITH THE PFIZER VACCINE, WITH THE FIRST DOSE, YOU NEED TO GET THE PFIZER VACCINE FOR THE SECOND DOSE.

VACCINES SHOULD BE OFFERED REGARDLESS OF PRIOR HISTORY OF COVID-19.

AND SO THAT MEANS IF YOU'VE HAD COVID-19 IN THE PAST, IF THAT WAS SYMPTOMATIC OR ASYMPTOMATIC COVID-19, YOU STILL ARE ELIGIBLE TO BE VACCINATED.

THE VACCINE CANNOT BE MADE MANDATORY AS THAT VACCINE IS CURRENTLY LICENSED UNDER AN EUA OR AN EMERGENCY USE AUTHORIZATION.

AND SO THE VACCINE CANNOT BE MADE MANDATORY AS IT DOESN'T HAVE THE FULL LICENSURE OF THE FDA. THE OTHER PIECES TO REMEMBER ARE THAT PUBLIC HEALTH PREVENTION AND PUBLIC HEALTH PREVENTION EFFORTS AGAIN SUCH AS MASKING, SOCIAL DISTANCING, STAYING HOME IF YOU'RE SICK OR EXPOSED, ARE SO CRITICAL EVEN AFTER VACCINATION FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS. ONE, IT TAKES A COUPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE PROTECTION FROM THE VACCINE IS RECOGNIZED. IT TAKES YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM JUST A LITTLE BIT OF TIME TO RAMP UP THOSE THAT PROTECTION. ANOTHER REASON IS THAT NO VACCINE IS 100 PERCENT, WE'RE SEEING REALLY GREAT EFFICACY AT NINETY FIVE PERCENT WITH THESE PFIZER VACCINE.

AND SO THAT'S REALLY GREAT, BUT STILL WANT TO MAINTAIN GOOD PUBLIC HEALTH PREVENTION.

AND THE THIRD REASON IS THAT THEY'LL BE LIMITED DOSES OF VACCINE AS AS THIS VACCINE IS ROLLED OUT TO THE PUBLIC AND AS OTHER VACCINES ARE ROLLED OUT TO THE PUBLIC.

AND SO WHILE WE'RE IN THE HOMESTRETCH, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE FINISH STRONG.

AND SO THOSE PUBLIC HEALTH PREVENTIONS, ALONG WITH THE VACCINE THAT'S A TOOL IN OUR TOOL BELT ARE CRITICAL IN IN KEEPING THOSE HOSPITALIZATION NUMBERS ON A DOWNWARD TREND AS WELL AS OUR FIVE DAY NEW CASE AVERAGE.

[00:10:04]

THAT WAS A LOT OF INFORMATION, SO I'M HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.

ONE OTHER THING I WANTED TO ADD MAYOR AND COUNCIL WAS WHILE NO ONE STEP AND NO ONE ACTION IS A PANACEA OR A MAGIC WAND TO CURE ALL, COUNCIL HAS TAKEN SOME PRETTY AGGRESSIVE OR PRETTY PROGRESSIVE STEPS TO TRY AND REDUCE OUR HOSPITALIZATION RATE.

AS WE LOOK AT OUR METRICS AND OUR TRENDS, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR METRICS IS MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION OVER THE LAST TWO OR THREE WEEKS AND SO BIG THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY. BIG THANK YOU TO OUR CITY COUNCIL FOR TAKING SOME STEPS THAT ARE WHILE AGAIN, NOTHING IS A CURE.

IF WE HAD THAT, WE WOULD BE GETTING A NOBEL PRIZE RIGHT NOW.

BUT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR COMMUNITY, THEY'RE LEADING US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITH REGARD TO OUR HOSPITALIZATION RATE, WITH REGARD TO OUR TOTAL NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES, WITH REGARD TO OUR AVERAGE NUMBER OF POSITIVES PER DAY, EACH ONE OF THOSE METRICS IS MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, IN SOME CASES DRAMATICALLY IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

SO THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU AND THANK YOU TO OUR OUR BUSINESSES MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE THAT ARE THAT ARE TAKING VERY REASONABLE, NOT DRACONIAN STEPS TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE AWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE ASKING OF THEM NOT REQUIRING, JUST ASKING.

SO I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, IF THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS, WE CAN ANSWER ME, KEVIN, CASIE, ANYONE ELSE ON THE TEAM, WE'RE HERE FOR YOU.

SO HERE'S MY FIRST QUESTION FOR YOU IS, SO PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO GET THE VACCINE STARTING TOMORROW, SO WHEN THEY'RE GETTING THEIR FIRST VACCINE AND THE LIMITED NUMBER OF VACCINES THAT WE HAVE. DOES THAT MEAN THAT THERE IS THEIR SECOND VACCINE THAT'S BEING PUT BACK AND WILL BE WAITING FOR THEM IN TWENTY ONE DAYS? IS THAT ALREADY ACCOUNTED FOR? YES, SIR, SO THOSE SECOND DOSES ARE ALREADY ACCOUNTED FOR AND WILL BE SHIPPED AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME.

OK, AND SO KIND OF THE PIGGYBACK JUST A LITTLE BIT ON WHAT JERED JUST SAID JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO, THAT ROLLING DAY POSITIVE CASE LOAD.

TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX PER DAY, IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, WASN'T IT OVER 500, THREE WEEKS AGO? SO WE'VE ACTUALLY SEEN THAT ONE CUT IN HALF, WHICH WOULD BE THE FIRST THING THAT WE WOULD SEE HAPPENING WHEN WE HAD PEOPLE THAT WERE STARTING TO.

IF THIS IS TRULY HAPPENING, THAT WOULD BE THE FIRST SIGN WE WOULD SEE OUR CASELOAD PER DAY GO DOWN. AND I'M SO GRATEFUL FOR THAT BECAUSE I WOULD NOT HAVE EVER IMAGINED THAT WE WOULD SEE IT CUT IN HALF IN A THREE WEEK PERIOD OF TIME.

AND SO I WOULD LIKE TO TELL THE COMMUNITY ALSO A GREAT BIG THANK YOU.

I'VE WALKED INTO SEVERAL DIFFERENT PLACES AND HAD SOME CONVERSATIONS, SOME WHO WERE VERY MUCH WORRIED ABOUT WHAT IT WAS GOING TO DO TO THEIR BUSINESS AND HAVE MADE COMMENTS THAT THAT THEIR BUSINESS HAS BEEN VERY STRONG DURING CHRISTMAS, REGARDLESS OF WHAT'S BEEN ASKED. AND I THINK THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE COMMUNITY OF AMARILLO AND THE PEOPLE SAYING, YEAH, I'LL GET ON BOARD AND I'LL HELP.

AND SO IT'S VERY HUMBLING.

AND I'M VERY GRATEFUL TO THE CITY OF AMARILLO AND THE RESIDENTS AND THE PEOPLE LIVING NOT JUST HERE IN TOWN, BUT IN THE AREA, BEING WILLING TO HELP US OUT TO GET THIS INTO A MUCH BETTER PLACE. AND I'M TRULY, TRULY GRATEFUL.

I WOULD AGREE WITH THAT, AND JUST WHILE I'M SO GRATEFUL TO BUSINESSES AND PEOPLE WHO ARE DOING WHAT OUR MEDICAL COMMUNITIES ASKED US TO DO, I JUST WOULD ASK WE'D STAY THE COURSE.

LET'S KEEP THIS GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

AND IT'S SO IT IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR ME.

AND I NOTICED A LOT OF PEOPLE TO BE TALKING ABOUT VACCINES AND TO BE I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE PICTURES OF SOMEONE GETTING A VACCINE TODAY IN OUR CITY.

SO I DO HAVE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF HOPE THAT WE ARE TURNING THE CORNER AND GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND THAT WE'RE GETTING CLOSER CLOSER TO THAT FINISH LINE, WHETHER IT'S MAY OR JUNE OR THAT WE'RE STILL WAITING TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT THAT WILL BE.

BUT WE KNOW WE'RE GETTING CLOSER.

AND I'M SO GRATEFUL TO EVERYONE IN THE CITY, MANY OF US DOING THINGS THAT WE NEVER ANTICIPATED HAVING TO DO AND THAT WE MIGHT NOT LIKE DOING.

BUT THANK YOU.

I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU.

CAN I ASK YOU ANOTHER QUESTION REAL QUICK THAT MAYBE YOU CAN GIVE SOME CLARIFICATION ON.

SO IF YOU'VE HAD COVID BEFORE CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME HELP ME TO HELP THE PUBLIC UNDERSTAND IF THERE IS A REASON TO GET THE VACCINE DESPITE HAVING HAD COVID BEFORE?

[00:15:07]

ABSOLUTELY, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION.

SO, YOU KNOW, WITH MOST VIRUSES, IF WE THINK ABOUT LIKE CHICKEN POX OR ANOTHER VIRUS, GENERALLY NATURAL INFECTION WOULD INFER IMMUNITY.

YOU KNOW, IF WE THINK ABOUT CHICKEN POX, WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING CHICKEN POX AGAIN.

THIS PARTICULAR VIRUS ISN'T LIKE THAT.

WE HAVE SEEN REINFECTIONS WE'VE SEEN IN OUR CDC GUIDANCE TELLS US THAT IF SOMEONE TESTS POSITIVE AGAIN AFTER 90 DAYS, THAT WE CAN LOOK FURTHER INTO THAT AND CONSIDER THAT TO BE A REINFECTION. AND SO THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR REINFECTION WITH COVID-19.

AND SO THAT'S WHY IT'S SO IMPORTANT TO BE VACCINATED, BECAUSE IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION, A VACCINE IS LIKELY TO PROVIDE LONGER IMMUNITY THAN DOES A NATURAL INFECTION.

AND SO THAT'S WHY IT'S REALLY, REALLY IMPORTANT TO BE VACCINATED.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR CASIE, COUNCIL? HAS THE VACCINE ARRIVED IN AMARILLO? IT DID THAT WE HAD OUR VERY FIRST SHIPMENT THIS MORNING, AND SO THAT'S REALLY JUST THE BEST NEWS I THINK THAT WE COULD HAVE HAD TODAY.

AND SO WE'VE HAD WORD THAT WE'VE HAD SOME OF OUR VERY FIRST HOSPITAL WORKERS TO BE VACCINATED. I THINK THEY'RE MAKING SURE THAT ALL THE REPORTING SYSTEMS AND EVERYTHING ARE KIND OF JUST WORKING WITHOUT FLAW.

AND THEN WE'LL BE VACCINATING MORE STAFF TOMORROW AND THEN USING ALL OF THOSE DOSES POTENTIALLY BY WEDNESDAY OR I'M SORRY, BY FRIDAY.

AND SO THAT'S JUST VERY EXCITING.

THIS HAS FELT LIKE A MARATHON THAT WE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT MILE WE'RE ON.

AND SO I THINK THAT THIS CERTAINLY FEELS LIKE WE'RE CLOSER TO THE FINISH LINE, BUT WE CAN'T QUIT RUNNING NOW.

AND SO WE'VE GOT TO KEEP YOU KNOW, WHEN IT'S WHEN IT'S MY TURN TO BE VACCINATED.

I'M VERY EXCITED.

BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT WE CAN'T QUIT WEARING OUR MASKS.

WE CAN'T QUIT SOCIAL DISTANCING.

WE CAN'T QUIT DOING ALL OF THOSE THINGS TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER.

UNTIL WE ALL GET ACROSS THAT FINISH LINE.

TILL WE'RE ALL ACROSS.

THANK YOU. THAT'S ALL I HAVE.

CASIE I HAVE GOT A FOLLOW UP QUESTION ON THE REINFECTION PERCENTAGE, AND SO I WAS TRYING TO PULL UP MY AMARILLO ALERTS, BUT MY PHONE'S A LITTLE SLOW, IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND TO TELL ME AGAIN THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CASES WE HAVE A POSITIVE TEST RESULTS WE HAVE HAD IN OUR COMMUNITY. AND SO TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND TWO SEVENTY NINE.

AND OUT OF THOSE TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND PLUS, HOW MANY REINFECTION HAVE WE IDENTIFIED? I WOULD HAVE TO GET THAT EXACT NUMBER FOR YOU.

I DON'T HAVE IT. I DON'T HAVE IT WITH ME TODAY.

ANY ANY IDEA ON IS IT IN THE HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS, WHAT PERCENTAGE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT REINFECTION AND IF YOU'D RATHER WAIT UNTIL YOU HAVE THAT NUMBER THAT'S FINE.

I DON'T HAVE THE NUMBER WITH ME.

IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND, WHENEVER YOU DO THAT, IF YOU COULD GO AHEAD AND SHOOT THAT, BECAUSE I'VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE ASK THAT QUESTION AND IT'S LIKE THAT THAT'S THE REALITY THAT THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR REINFECTION.

BUT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT PERCENTAGE OUT OF THAT TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND WE'RE SEEING IN OUR COMMUNITY.

ABSOLUTELY WILL BE HAPPY TO GET THAT FOR YOU.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR CASIE? I HAVE ONE OTHER QUESTION ON TESTING TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ANTIBODIES AND IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND TO JUST RESTATE AGAIN, LIKE IF SOMEBODY DONATES BLOOD, THE TYPE OF INFORMATION THAT CAN BE GATHERED FROM THAT.

YEAH. SO THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION, TOO.

SO THEY YOU CAN TEST FOR ANTIBODIES AND THAT JUST RIGHT NOW THAT WOULD DETERMINE IF YOU HAD HAD A PREVIOUS INFECTION THAT IGG ESPECIALLY.

THE VACCINE MANUFACTURERS AND THE ACIP DON'T RECOMMEND OR THEY SAY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TEST FOR ANTIBODIES BEFORE VACCINATION, THAT IF YOU'VE HAD IF YOU HAVE HAD COVID-19 IN

[00:20:01]

THE PAST, THAT YOU STILL IT'S RECOMMENDED TO BE VACCINATED.

THE HARD PART WITH ANTIBODY TESTING IS IT'S JUST A YES, NO QUESTION, BUT IT DOESN'T TELL YOU WHEN. SO IT DOESN'T TELL YOU HOW LONG AGO OR HOW MUCH IMMUNITY YOU MIGHT HAVE.

LIKE, IT DOESN'T IT DOESN'T QUANTIFY THE ANSWER.

IT JUST SAYS YES OR NO.

YOU MAY HAVE YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED OR HAVE HAD COVID-19 IN THE PAST, BUT IT DOESN'T TELL US INFORMATION AS TO HOW LONG YOU MIGHT BE IMMUNE OR HOW STRONG THAT IMMUNITY IS OR HOW LONG AGO YOU WERE INFECTED.

SO IT'S HELPFUL, BUT IT DOESN'T IT'S JUST A YES NO ANSWER.

IF THE ANSWER IS YES, DO YOU QUALIFY AS A PLASMA DONOR? YES, MA'AM. SO THAT THAT IS QUITE HELPFUL, ESPECIALLY FROM THE BLOOD CENTERS PERSPECTIVE.

SO WE AND WE NEED ALL OF THE BLOOD DONATION WE CAN GET.

SO IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO DONATE BLOOD, IF YOU ARE WILLING, THEN WE CERTAINLY NEED BLOOD DONATION THROUGH [INAUDIBLE] MEMORIAL.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? I KNOW Y'ALL ARE GETTING A LOT OF QUESTIONS FROM CITIZENS, I AM SO I'M REALLY GRATEFUL.

THIS IS A GREAT AVENUE FOR US TO USE CASIE AND HER EXPERTISE AND GET THOSE ANSWERS OUT THERE. Y'ALL ALWAYS ASK GREAT QUESTIONS.

OK. ANYTHING ELSE, MR. CITY MANAGER ON A CORONAVIRUS UPDATE THEN? NO MA'AM. OK, CASIE, THANK YOU.

MOVING TO ITEM 1C IS REQUEST FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND REPORTS FROM THE CITY MANAGER.
